Salesforce Process Improvement: Process Builder or Trigger

We always have this question posed to us by Salesforce shops.

Do we get record processing done through process builder or trigger?

There are some good reason why you will use Process Builder.

1. Process builders can be easily done by clicks and no coding.
2. Many shops do not have a full time developer.

Our recommendation is use a process builder if the Salesforce object does not have an existing trigger. If there is a trigger then the process builder becomes a bottleneck to performance. Process builders are not bulkified.

So what can you do if there is a trigger but you do not have a developer?

Well, then create a flow. Flow is much more sophisticated and Salesforce has invested in enhancing it as well as improving performance.
